The University of Oklahoma - Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium
This aerial panoramic photograph, taken by Chris Gjevre, commemorates the 70th consecutive home sellout of the OU Sooner football team playing at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium at Owen Field. The first game at this site took place in 1923. The field was named after Bennie Owen, OU's head coach at the time, who became a charter member of the National Football Hall of Fame. Opened in 1925, the original iteration of the OU Memorial Stadium had only 16,000 seats. Today, Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is one of America's most recognized football stadiums and ranks among the 20 largest on-campus facilities in the nation with an official capacity of 82,112.
Saturday afternoon at the stadium with Sooner Nation...there's nowhere else like it! This amazing poster gives you a rare bird's-eye-view of legendary Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma during a big matchup on a cool fall Saturday afternoon. The sea of crimson inside the game is a breathtaking sight to see; and the surrounding campus buildings, practice fields, and neighborhoods put the scene in great context. Whether you are a lifelong Sooner fan, a season-ticket holder, alumni, student, or simply an armchair fanatic, this print is a brilliant addition to your home or office!
