Celebrate the greatness of a true legend of the segregation - and desegregation - eras! Take a step back in time, to 1952, and the MLB prime (if you will) of Satchel Paige. A victim of baseball's shameful boycott of dark-skinned players in the first half of the 20th century, Paige was one of the Negro Leagues' greatest pitchers for two decades. When Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey broke the color barrier in 1947, Satchel was already 41 years old, and most thought that the great Satchel was already washed up. Alas, the Cleveland Indians took a chance on him, and amazingly, he became a key part of the 1948 Indians that won the World Series. And he wasn't finished there! In 1952, at the age of 46, Paige joined the St. Louis Browns, and not only remained effective, he became an American League All-Star. That is where this amazing print takes us, that remarkable 1952 season in St. Louis. Perhaps this was the year he said his most famous of many notable quotations: "Never look back...something might be gaining on you."

Published in poster size exclusively for sandroautomoveis.com, this is a Cooperstown-quality classic printed directly from the original photographic source, and complete with official MLB Properties serialized hologram for licensing authenticity, this is both a stunning piece for any fan, and a valuable collector's item for years to come. Perfect for home or office - a wonderful conversation piece and a spectacular work of photographic sports art for your own personal Wall of Fame!
